Laminated wood sheet is a very strong insulating material which is made by stacking layers of veneer sheet, or sometimes wood sheet, and then gluing it together with heat and pressure using a special resin. This creates a rigid board which has great dielectric properties as well as very high mechanical strength. This special construction also gives the material resistance to electrical stress, vibration and mechanical loading, and is often used for transformer clamping structures, motor parts, switchgear supports and other heavy duty applications where both structural strength and insulation strength is required.
