Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: What is the difference between 6020 transparent and 6021 milky white PET film? A: 6020 transparent film is primarily used as a laminate base with other substrates. 6021 milky white film has higher direct insulation properties and can be used standalone for electrical insulation. Both are Class E (120°C) materials with UL E310670 recognition.
Q2: Can SIDA PET film be customized in width and thickness? A: Yes. Standard width is 1000mm, but we can produce from 100mm to 1500mm. Thickness range is 0.075-0.35mm with ±5% tolerance. Custom roll weights (50-300kg) and lengths are also available.
Q3: What is the storage life and conditions? A: Storage period is 18 months from production date when stored in a dry, clean environment at 15-30°C, humidity <70%, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and pressure. Keep original packaging sealed.
Q4: How does PET film perform in oil-immersed transformers? A: Our PET film demonstrates excellent compatibility with transformer oil (mineral and synthetic). It shows no contamination, maintains dielectric strength, and has oil absorption <0.5% per IEC 60674-2.
Q5: What are the minimum order quantities? A: Standard MOQ is 500kg per thickness. For custom slitting into tapes, MOQ is 300kg. Sample rolls (10-20kg) available for testing.
Q6: Can PET film be used for Class F (155°C) applications? A: Standard PET film is Class E (120°C). For Class F applications, we recommend upgraded formulations or NMN composites. Contact our technical team for high-temperature solutions.
Q7: How is breakdown voltage tested and what values can I expect? A: Tested per IEC 60243-1 using 50Hz AC voltage. Example: 0.15mm film achieves ≥12kV breakdown, 0.25mm achieves ≥20kV. Values are higher in oil immersion.
Q8: Is the product suitable for automatic winding machines? A: Yes. The film’s tensile strength (≥150 MPa) and dimensional stability make it ideal for high-speed automatic coil winding and insertion equipment.
Q9: What’s the lead time for orders? A: Standard products ship within 10-15 days. Custom orders require 15-20 days depending on specifications and quantity.
Q10: Can you provide cutting/slitting services? A: Yes. We can slit master rolls into tapes (minimum 8mm width) or sheets. Tighter tolerances available for precision applications.
